- End of the Fifth Diadoch War (from 288 BC ) Demetrios I Poliorketes , expelled from his kingdom of Macedonia , first won the Greek cities of Ionia , including Sardis ; when trying but getting through to Mesopotamia he falls into the area of the Taurus in the captivity of Seleucus I.
