Klein's Backstube (full name Stadtbäckerei Hürth Klein's Backstube GmbH ) is a large bakery in Hürth in the Rhein-Erft district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).

The bakery has over 90 branches in the Cologne area and the Rhein-Erft-Kreis , Leverkusen , Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis , Euskirchen and Düren districts .

history

In 1872 Franz Klein founded a bakery in Hürth- Kendenich . After the Second World War and the reconstruction in the district of Stotzheim , an "outgoing bakery" was built. Fresh bread and rolls were delivered. In 1970 the first branch was opened in Hürth- Efferen . In 1988 a new bakery was built on an area of ​​around 10,000 square meters in the Hürth- Kalscheuren industrial park . The branch network of ten at the time has been continuously expanded. The company was certified according to ISO 9001 in 2000 for development, production, shipping and sales . In 2000, Willi-Heinz Klein received the “City of Hürth Business Prize” for his life's work. In 1995 the fourth generation entered the business with responsibility.
