The Kleine Herrenburg is an abandoned hilltop castle of the castle type of a tower hill castle (Motte) on the hill by today's cemetery in the southern part of the Mauderode district of the Werther municipality in the Nordhausen district in Thuringia .
history
The Burgstall shows an artificially raised circular hill about 30 meters in diameter, next to it a circular ditch with a rampart and a linden tree . There is a note on the hill to the Herrenburg. The proximity to the church and the former knight's seat “Alter Hof” point to the former site in the district. The artificial castle hill is evidence of a former moth .
