The lesser gray fat- tailed lemur ( Cheirogaleus minusculus ) is a primate species from the lemur group . The species is only known from a single museum specimen and was described in 2000 .

The species is relatively small and comparable in size to the Western fat-tailed lemur. Their fur is iron-gray on the upper side, and the underside is also gray. There is an inconspicuous line of eel on the back , the feet are white. As with all fat-tailed lemurs, the head is rounded; in comparison to most other species of this genus, the ears are hairy.

The only specimen so far has been found near the town of Fianarantsoa on the east coast of Madagascar , which means that rainforests are the habitat of this species . Otherwise nothing is known about the way of life.

The degree of risk is also unclear, the IUCN lists the species under “too little data available” ( data deficient ).
