Beate Hennig

Beate Hennig (born January 4, 1942 as Beate Haumann ) is a doctor of German studies, who temporarily taught at the University of Hamburg.

In 1980 she did her doctorate at the University of Hamburg with a thesis on the narrative work of Hartmann von Aue . She is married to the retired professor of German studies Jörg Hennig .

Beate Hennig is the editor of the Small Middle High German Dictionary , which is the standard dictionary for students of Medieval Studies alongside the pocket dictionary published by Matthias Lexer (so-called "Pocket Lexer ") . She has also developed a small Hamburg dictionary .
