The Klemm Kl 31 was a civil touring aircraft from Leichtflugzeugbau Klemm GmbH .

development

The aircraft was developed in 1930/31 as a pure touring aircraft. The aircraft differed from the earlier Klemm models in that it had a welded tubular steel fuselage and a closed cabin. The aircraft was a cantilever low- wing monoplane in a composite construction with a rigid, disguised normal landing gear. The aircraft offered space for up to four people. The standard models Klemm KL 31a XIV was equipped with a seven - cylinder Siemens-Halske Sh 14 radial engine. The improved version of the Klemm KL 31ab XIV received extendable slats , landing flaps and an aerodynamic NACA canopy . Only about 30 of the machines had been built by 1935, none of which survived the Second World War .
