Manfred Hauke

Manfred Hauke (born April 28, 1956 in Hanover ) is a German Roman Catholic theologian .

Life

Manfred Hauke ​​spent his childhood and youth in Paderborn . After graduating from high school , he studied philosophy and Catholic theology there and in Munich . In addition to his academic work, Manfred Hauke ​​took on pastoral tasks and was prefect of studies at the San Carlo seminary in Lugano .

Scientific career

1981 Hauke was in dogmatic theology with a thesis on the problems surrounding the women priests in the context of creation and redemption order at Scheffczyk doctorate . After his ordination in 1983 he was in pastoral ministry as vicar in Dortmund and Hagen for four years . In 1987 he worked as a research assistant to Anton Ziegenaus and completed his habilitation in 1991.

In 1993 he followed a call to the Theological Faculty of Lugano as a professor of dogmatics . His main focus in dogmatics is Mariology . In 2001 he started teaching patrology .

In his scientific publications he devotes himself to the entire area of ​​dogmatics. Monographs have been published on, among other things, the priesthood of women, the Greek doctrine of original sin, the doctrine of the sacraments , feminist theology , the theology of Cardinal Leo Scheffczyk and the mariological initiatives of Cardinal Mercier . In several essays and a symposium, Hauke ​​also dealt very critically with Hans Urs von Balthasar .

He has been editor of the Collana di Mariologia book series since 2002 and co-editor of the Quaestiones thomisticae series of studies since 2007 . Since 2004 he has been co-editor of the journals Sedes Sapientiae , the Mariological Yearbook and since 2007 of the Forum Catholic Theology organ . Hauke ​​has been a member of the editorial committee of the Rivista teologica di Lugano since 1996 and of the Ephemerides Liturgicae since 2007 . Since June 2, 2010, he has been the successor to David Berger as editor of the Catholic traditionalist magazine Theologisches .

Hauke ​​became known to a wider public when, in his capacity as chairman of the German Association for Mariology, he gave an interview to the Catholic daily newspaper Die Tagespost about the alleged apparitions of Mary in Međugorje .
