Anton Ziegenaus

Anton Ziegenaus (born March 15, 1936 in Höfarten near Schiltberg , Bavaria ) is a German Roman Catholic theologian who mainly works in the field of dogmatics .

Life

Ziegenaus studied theology, philosophy and psychology at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . In 1963 he was ordained a priest . That same year he was at Alois Dempf with the work The human image of Theodore of Mopsuestia Dr. phil doctorate , in 1972 he earned a doctorate in Scheffczyk Dr. theol. with the work The trinitarian expression of the divine fullness of being according to Marius Victorinus . At the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg he qualified as a professor with a paper on the theology of penance for the subject dogmatics.

In 1977, he received a call to the chair of dogmatic theology at the University of Augsburg . He was visiting professor at the Universidad de Navarra in Pamplona and the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross (Pontificia Università della Santa Croce) in Rome . In 2004 he retired . He is the scientific director of the Theological Summer Academy in Dießen.

Act

Ziegenaus' research focuses on the history of the scriptural canon , eschatology and the doctrine of the sacraments . Anton Ziegenaus became famous with the eight-volume work Katholische Dogmatik , which he wrote together with Leo Scheffczyk . The work has been translated into several languages. He has published over 200 scientific papers. He has been co-editor of Forum Katholische Theologie since 1991 .

Until 2005 he was chairman of the German Association for Mariology and editor of the book series Mariological Studies .

Since 1956 he has been a member of the Catholic student association KDStV Aenania Munich in the CV . Since 2000 he has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the Forum of German Catholics .
