TW7-117S

The TW7-117 is a PTL engine ( turboprop ) from the Russian manufacturer Klimow . It drives the Ilyushin Il-114 and the Mil Mi-38 helicopter .

development

The TW7-117 was developed in the 1990s and certified by the Russian aviation authority in 1997.

Compared to its predecessor, the Klimow TW3-117 , the specific fuel consumption has been reduced and the reliability and maintenance intervals increased.

technology

TW7-117SM

The TW7-117 is a single-shaft turboprop engine with a five-stage axial and a single-stage radial compressor, which are driven by a two-stage turbine. Another two-stage, free-running power turbine drives the propeller or rotor. The combustion chambers are arranged in a ring. The control is digital ( FADEC ).
