The St. Michael Clinic Church , also called Michaelis Church , in the Pfafferode district of the city of Mühlhausen in Thuringia is an ecumenical church. It is located in the so-called Pflegerdorf on the premises of the Ecumenical Hainich Clinic .

history

In the period from 1910 to 1917 was west of Mulhouse by the Provincial Association of the Prussian province of Saxony , the provincial mental hospital Pfafferode built. The pastoral care of the patients was given high priority right from the start, which is why the construction of a clinic church for the patients began in 1913 . The ecumenical church was solemnly consecrated on September 9, 1917. The first Protestant pastor was August Emmelmann, the Catholic services were taken over by the Franciscan Father Burckhardt.

As part of the clinic pastoral care of the Ecumenical Hainich Clinic, a Catholic or Protestant church service takes place alternately on Sundays.

Peal

The bells intended for the church in 1917 were melted down for the First World War . It was not until October 24, 2012 that three bells were installed in the clinic church to complete the church. The Eifel bell foundry in Brockscheid fulfilled the order.
