The cliffs of Coreca , Scogli di Coreca , are rocks off the western coast of Calabria . The ten islands, of which Capoto is the largest with an area of 50 m², belong to the frazione Coreca . In terms of state administration, the islands belong to the municipality of Amantea in the province of Cosenza . They are spread over an area that extends from the località “La Tonnara” to the coastline in front of Coreca. The rocks are made of green serpentine , interspersed with white limestone.

Besides Capoto, the ten rocks are the Formica, Ginario, Longarino, Piccirillo, Tirolé (also oriole) and the four Scuagli da Funtana.

While the Lega Italiana Protezione Uccelli tried to protect the breeding areas for seabirds until the 1980s , these have largely disappeared today. One of the causes is illegal hotel construction. In 2015, the dispute began about a huge barrier that was to be erected in front of the Coreca rock, which Odysseus is said to have called "Koreca petre", "Crows Rock". A citizens' initiative tried to prevent the project because, in their opinion, the rock was not at risk.
