Stephan Bodis

Stephan Bodis (* 16th February 1958 in Basel ) is a Swiss Radio oncologist . He heads the Radio Oncology Center KSA - KSB .

Career

Stephan Bodis began his medical studies in 1978 at the University of Freiburg in Switzerland and completed it in 1984 at the University of Basel . He then worked in the Department of Internal Medicine at the Baden Cantonal Hospital until 1987 and at the University Hospital Zurich until 1989. From 1989 to 1991 he was a Fellow of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), as well as a Research Fellow in the Department of Hematology / Oncology and Molecular Pharmacology at the Gustave Roussy Institute in Villejuif near Paris . This was followed by a clinical and research residency and fellowship in 1995 in radio-oncology at the Joint Center for Radiotherapy at Harvard Medical School in Boston and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology , Department of Biology, Cambridge. From 1995 to 2003 Bodis was senior physician and head of the laboratory for molecular radiobiology at the University Hospital Zurich. In March 1998 he was appointed private lecturer at the University of Zurich , and in 2004 he was appointed adjunct professor.

Stephan Bodis has been director of the Institute for Radio-Oncology at the Aarau Cantonal Hospital since 2003, and since 2015 Center Director of Radio-Oncology at the Aarau and Baden Cantonal Hospitals. In September 2012 he became a member of the Medical Faculty of the University of Zurich (associate professor).

Scientific and medical work

Stephan Bodis' work covers the clinical aspect of molecular radiobiology, the application of photon and proton radiotherapy, multidisciplinary clinical oncology and the combination of hyperthermia with radiotherapy.
