Klophaus Park
The Klophaus Park is a small park in the east of Wuppertal municipality Elberfeld , local situation Kluser height in the residential area south town .
The park is located on a mountain spur above the streets Klophausstraße and Wolkenburg that frame it . To the west, the park merges into the residential area of Kluser Höhe at the same level. From the park you can see the Wuppertal between the Judicial Island and the Wuppertaler Schauspielhaus an der Kluse and the Hardtberg opposite .
The park has a classical pavilion and a playground . as well as three barbecue areas. The Wolkenburg staircase leads from the valley up to Klophaus Park. The stairs have been renovated and reopened after being closed for twenty years. A second flight of stairs begins on Klophausstrasse .
The park emerges from the private garden of the villa of the fashion store owner Ludwig von Lilienthal , who made a name for himself as a patron of Wuppertal poets and artists. The villa later served as the summer residence of the haulier Klophaus. The building no longer exists today.
