Lothar Schröder (trade unionist)

Lothar Schröder (born December 5, 1959 in Weingarten ) was a member of the ver.di executive board from 2006 to 2019 and is Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Telekom .

Life

In 1976 Lothar Schröder graduated from secondary school and in 1979 completed an apprenticeship as a telecommunications technician . In 1992 he became head of the technology policy department at the main board of the Deutsche Postgewerkschaft (DPG) .

From 2001 to 2006 he was head of "Innovation and Technology Policy" at the ver.di federal executive board and from September 2003 to March 2006 he was in charge of the principle, strategy and planning division in the telecommunications, information technology and data processing department of the ver.di federal executive board. Lothar Schröder has been a member of the ver.di federal executive board since April 2006, where he was responsible for innovation and technology policy as well as “ good work ”. He also headed the group “Foremen, Technicians, Engineers (mti)” and the “Telecommunications, Information Technology, Data Processing” department.

Lothar Schröder is Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Telekom and T-Mobile Germany. In addition, he holds numerous honorary functions in the DPG and in co-determination committees of the Bundespost and Telekom. He has advisory functions in numerous research projects and is a member of the study commissions Internet and digital society (until 2013) and Artificial Intelligence - social responsibility and economic, social and ecological potential (since 2018).
