Monastery Échourgnac ( Abbaye Notre-Dame de Bonne-Espérance ; lat. Abbatia Beatae Mariae de Bona Spe ) is a Trappist - abbey in Échourgnac in the Dordogne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine in France.

history

The complex, also known as the Abbey of Our Lady of Good Hope , was founded in 1868 by Cistercian monks from the Port-du-Salut monastery. The church was built in the neo-Gothic style. In 1910 the monks left Échourgnac. In 1923 the monastery was taken over by a community of Trappist women who had established themselves in the Pyrenees in 1852 ( Espira-de-l'Agly Monastery ).
