history
The monastery, founded in 1188 by Foulques, Lord of Assé-Riboul, was a subsidiary of Savigny and thus belonged to the filiation of the Clairvaux Primary Abbey . The monastery is thought to have been dissolved in the French Revolution. Today it forms an agricultural enterprise with accommodation facilities (ferme auberge).
Buildings and plant
Only a cellar remains from the 12th century building. The west wing, which was rebuilt in the 18th and 19th centuries, the former converse wing of the abbey and the kitchen of the south wing have been preserved. The church and cloister were destroyed in 1805. The church had a five-bay nave with a single aisle in the north, a transept with two side chapels in the east and a rectangular two-bay choir.
