Oberkirchen is a locality and a cadastral municipality of the municipality of Groß Gerungs in the Zwettl district in Lower Austria .

The village is located northwest of Groß Gerungs and also consists of the Rotte Erlenbach .

Settlement development

At the turn of the year 1979/1980 there were a total of 19 building areas with 9,023 m² and 20 gardens on 3,993 m² in the cadastral community of Oberkirchen , in 1989/1990 there were 19 building areas. In 1999/2000 the number of building areas had grown to 68 and in 2009/2010 there were 28 buildings on 68 building areas.

Buildings

The St. Nicholas parish church with the squat Romanesque tower was built in the first half of the 15th century into a Gothic hall church and is just like the cemetery and the parsonage conservation area ( list entry ).

Land use

The cadastral community is characterized by agriculture. 38 hectares were used for agriculture at the turn of the year 1979/1980 and 13 hectares were forest areas. In 1999/2000, 33 hectares of agriculture were carried out and 17 hectares were designated as areas used for forestry. At the end of 2018, 29 hectares were used as agricultural land and forestry was carried out on 18 hectares. The average soil climate number of Oberkirchen is 17.1 (as of 2010).
