The Kronach Monastery is a former monastery of the Franciscan Observants and current monastery of the Order of the Oblates in Kronach in Bavaria in the Archdiocese of Bamberg .

Bells

The monastery church has a two-part ringing from bells b "and g". The bells are housed in a bell tower above the chancel.

history

The St. Peter of Alcantara consecrated monastery was founded in 1649 by the Strasbourg Observantenprovinz the Franciscans and was only hospice , starting in 1674 with the inauguration of the completed by builder Sixtus monastery church convent ; it was dissolved in 1829 . The church and monastery were preserved. The church and part of the former monastery buildings were later taken over by the Oblate Fathers , and a school was housed in other monastery buildings.
