The monastery of Les Feuillants ( lat.Fulium ; Abbatia Fuliensis ) is a former Cistercian abbey in the Haute-Garonne department , Occitania region in France . The monastery was located in the municipality of Labastide-Clermont about eight kilometers south of Rieumes .

history

The monastery was founded in 1145 on land donated by Count Bernhard IV of Comminges and initially depended on Dalon Monastery . In 1169 (or 1163) it joined the Cistercian Order and was settled by La Crête Monastery from the filiation of the Morimond Primary Abbey . Later it was taken over by the Loc-Dieu monastery . In the 16th century he initiated the reform of the Commendatar Abbot Jean de la Barrière , as a result of which the monastery broke away from the Cistercian order in 1592 as the head of the Order of Feuillanten .
