The monastery Mariensande or Zandt in Straelen was a monastery of the Augustinian canons of the Windesheim congregation , which existed from 1470 to 1802.

In 1450, knight Johann von Broeckhuysen founded a regular lord's monastery in Oostrum near Venray , which was moved to Straelen in 1470, as Duke Adolf von Geldern had vowed to found a monastery on the occasion of the battle of Straelen, which was victorious for him in 1468. The monastery was also the spiritual center of the knightly order founded after the battle .

The remains of the monastery buildings preserved in a farm were destroyed in a fire in 1965.
