Santo Spirito della Valle Monastery was a short-lived Cistercian abbey in Puglia , Italy . It was in the diocese of Taranto . The exact location is not known.

history

It was founded by a convent sent by the Ferraria monastery under Archbishop Nikolaus von Taranto in 1215. The monastery thus belonged to the filiation of the Clairvaux monastery primary abbey . In 1232 the General Chapter of the Cistercian Order approved the conversion of the monastery into a grangie . The monks moved to the monastery of Santa Maria Incoronata near Foggia . The history of the monastery ended after 17 years.
