The town hall at Klosterstrasse 8-10 is in the Wickrath district in Mönchengladbach ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).
The town hall was built in the 18th century. It was entered under No. K 025 on September 24, 1985 in the monuments list of the city of Mönchengladbach .
architecture
The core of the building is an eaves , two-storey brick building of six axes with a hipped roof , built perhaps as early as the early 18th century and identical to the court or wine house mentioned in 1748, with the narrow eastern side bordering on Honiggasse and along this with an extension of the same eaves height expanded at an angle around 1900. Completely rebuilt in 1967 and lengthened by four axes to the west.
Characteristic brick building of the 18th century extended in style appropriate forms, worth preserving as historical building dominate in the almost completely war-destroyed center of Wickrath for reasons of local history and urban development.
