Knot (sea sport)

Knot is one of the land disciplines of the maritime all-around competition . The task for the Seesportler is prescribed within a short time of ten nautical use nodes in a predetermined order on a standardized node path also having standardized rope to manufacture (coll .: ropes) ( beat ). In addition to the time, the quality of the knots is also assessed.

The knots

The following knots are to be made in this order:

  1. Eight knot
  2. Square knot
  3. Bowline
  4. Stopperstek
  5. Slipstek
  6. Loom
  7. Carpenter's handle
  8. Roringstek , also: Rohringstek
  9. Round trip with two half beats
  10. double sheet stake

Top athletes cope with the junction track, which still includes five meters of approach and departure, in less than 30 seconds.
