The Knott Nunatak is an approximately 750 m high nunatak on the West Antarctic Alexander I Island . It rises 1.5 km northwest of the northern end of the LeMay Range .
The British geographer Derek Searle of the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey mapped it in 1960 using aerial photographs taken by the American Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (1947-1948). The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1977 after Christopher Edward Knott (* 1944) of the British Antarctic Survey , who worked on Stonington Island from 1974 to 1975 and on Adelaide Island from 1975 to 1976 and was involved in surveying the area around the Nunatak was involved.
