Knut Magnusson

Knut Magnusson (* in the 12th or 13th century; † 1251 ) was a Swedish lawyer in Västergötland . Magnusson came from the Folkung family . His parents were Magnus Broka ( Bjälbo family ) and Sigrid Knutsdotter from Sweden.

After the death of Erik the lisp and lame, Knut Magnusson had a double claim to the throne (through his father) and after the election of Valdemar Birgersson as king, Knut Magnusson and Filip Knutsson started a riot. They recruited soldiers in Germany and rode through Sweden, but were defeated in the Battle of Herrevadsbro . Magnusson was executed after the battle in 1251.

His daughter was Birgitta Knutsdotter (Bjälbo family), married to Ulf Jonsson Roos from Ervalla.
