Gabriel Merlino
Gabriel Merlino (* 1977 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine bandoneon player .
Career
Merlino began studying bandoneon at the early age of eight . Since 1989 he has been active as a professional musician mainly in South America , Europe and the USA . In 1996 he founded the formation Nuevo Siglo Tango, one of the pioneering groups of the new tango generation. Nuevo Siglo Tango has references in many cultural centers, radio and television stations in Argentina.
Between 2002 and 2009 he made a total of 18 concert tours to the USA , Germany , France , Austria , Belgium , Switzerland , Luxemburg, the Netherlands and Lebanon with his bandoneon solo show and a wide variety of ensembles .
In 2005 his CD “Bandoneon Dreams” (with titles from the styles of jazz , Latin , baroque , folklore and tango , standards and his own compositions) was the first world music recording in the history of the bandoneon.
