Knut Pani (* 1956 in Mexico City ) is a Mexican artist.

biography

Pani, son of the architect Mario Pani Darqui , assisted Lothar Kestenbaum's sculptor's workshop in San Miguel de Allende in 1975 and published the trade journal “Arquitectura / México” from 1976 to 1979, working closely with Mathias Goeritz . From 1979 he studied painting at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California and graduated in 1983 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts qualification for painting and illustration. In 1983 he founded the “Trazo” experimental workshop in Mexico City. In 1985 he was artistic director of the Rufino Tamayo Museum and lectured as a professor at the Universidad Anáhuac from 1985 to 1988 . During this time he founded an experimental sculpture workshop with Alejandro Arango and Franco Manterola . In 1993 he founded the graphic workshop "El Pez Soluble" and the "El Pez Soluble arte Mural " in Tequisquiapan . In 2001 he gave his first solo exhibition in the field of sculpture . At the III. At the Biennale for Contemporary Art in Florence he was awarded the “Lorenzo el Magnífico” medal.
