The Catholic Church and Monastery of St. Anthony in Zakopane (Polish: Kościół i klasztor pw. Św. Antoniego z Padwy w Zakopanem ) is administered by the Bernardines . In 1893/1902 the order acquired a Zakopane-style villa as a religious house. The monastery and church were rebuilt in 1958. In 1976 Cardinal Karol Wojtyła from Krakow , who later became Pope John Paul II , handed over the parish of St. Anthony in Bystre to the St.
