Koala Island is an island off the coast of the East Antarctic Enderbyland . It is west of Pinn Island and north of the eastern end of McKinnon Island .
Aerial photographs taken in 1956 as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions were used to map them. The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named it after the koala .
