Kocku from Stuckrad

Kocku von Stuckrad (born April 6, 1966 in Kpandu , Ghana / West Africa) is a German religious scholar .

Life

Kocku von Stuckrad studied Comparative Religious Studies , Philosophy and Judaic Studies at the Universities of Bonn and Cologne and graduated with a master's degree in 1995. This was followed by a doctoral degree from 1997 to 1999 and a lectureship in religious studies from 1997 to 2002 at the University of Bremen , where he finally completed his habilitation in July 2002 . From the spring of the same year he held a one-year visiting professorship at the chair for contemporary religion at the University of Bayreuth . After that, he was Assistant Professor of History of Hermetic Philosophy and Related Currents (in German: History of Hermetic Philosophy and relative currents ) at the Department of Art, Religion and Cultural Studies (eg: Department of Art, Religion and Contemporary Culture ) of the Faculty of Humanities ( Humanities Faculty ) of the University of Amsterdam (Chair: Wouter J. Hanegraaff ). On September 1, 2009, he took over a professorship for religious studies at the University of Groningen .
