The Kohtla River ( Estonian Kohtla jõgi ) flows in northeast Estonia , in Ida-Viru County .

description

The river has its source near the village of Kiikla ( Kiikla küla ) and flows into the Purtse ( Putse jõgi ) river from the right . It is 29 km long and its catchment area covers 189 km². At its upper reaches the Kohtla is also called Ereda jõgi , at its lower reaches Roodu jõgi .
