Kolasib is a city in the Indian state of Mizoram .
The city is the capital of the Kolasib district . Kolasib has town status . The city is divided into 10 wards . On the cut-off date of the 2011 census, it had 24,272 inhabitants, of whom 12,102 were men and 12,170 were women. Christians make up the majority of the city's population with a share of over 93%. Hindus form a minority of over 5%. The literacy rate in 2011 was 97.8%, well above the national average. 88.4% belong to the Scheduled Tribes .
Kolasib is an agricultural economy with a few jobs in the service sector as it is a district capital.
