The Kolbensattel ( 1276 m above sea level ) above Oberammergau is the destination and starting point for several alpine sports activities in the Ammer Mountains.
The saddle separates the Steckenberg from the Brunnbergkamm and is relatively easy to reach from Oberammergau using a mountain railway. On the saddle there are opportunities to hike in the direction of the August-Schuster-Haus or to go climbing near the teeth . The serviced Kolbensattelhütte is located directly on the saddle .
On the saddle there is also a climbing garden and the starting point of the Alpine Coaster , or in winter part of the Oberammergau ski area .
Tour possibilities
From the piston caliper are often committed, for. B. the Kofelsteig to the Pürschlinghaus or the shortened access to the tooth ridge .
