Koldevitz is a district of the city of Garz / Rügen on the island of Rügen in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

The place is six kilometers southwest of Bergen on Rügen near the state road 291 leading from Sehlen to Garz. The site is about ten meters above sea level. Apart from the small forest areas that directly adjoin the residential development, the surrounding area is characterized by agricultural areas.

history

Koldevitz appeared in documents in 1314 as Colovitze and in 1318 as Koldevitze . Translated from Old Polish , this could stand for a settlement built on posts . In the topographical-statistical manual of New Western Pomerania and the island of Rügen from 1859, Koldevitz is listed as a Vorwerk .

Until the end of 2003, Koldevitz was part of the Karnitz community. This was incorporated into Garz / Rügen on January 1, 2004.

The village's former manor house dates from the early 19th century. The later modified, single-storey building with dormer stands on a fieldstone base, is plastered and has a mansard roof ; Today (2015) it is a holiday home.
