College St. Josef Salzburg-Aigen
The St. Josef College Salzburg-Aigen is a religious house of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood in Salzburg-Aigen . The monastery is under monument protection ( list entry ).
history
The St. Josef College was built in the former park of Villa Trapp from 1961 to 1964 according to the plans of Working Group 4 with the architects Wilhelm Holzbauer , Friedrich Kurrent and Johannes Spalt . The two-storey steel construction is impressive because of the combination of the concept of a historical monastery complex with the tradition of Austrian classical modernism.
The college has a house chapel and is the seat of the Provincial Office of the Order for the German-speaking area and is a hostel and training location for the seminarians for Catholic theology of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood at the University of Salzburg . The house with conference and meditation rooms and overnight accommodation is available for seminars and retreats.
