The Kollegium Heilig Kreuz ( French : Collège Sainte-Croix ) is a bilingual high school in Freiburg in the Üechtland . It is worth mentioning that bilingual lessons (German-French) are offered.

history

The Collegium Heilig Kreuz was founded in 1904 by Sister Maria Paula Beck , Superior General of the Menzing Sisters , and her brother Josef Beck as a women's university and later as a grammar school for girls. The college, which was mainly a boarding school, was run exclusively by nuns of the Holy Cross of Menzingen. From 1958 the state participated in the college. Today the Kollegium Heilig Kreuz is a cantonal, bilingual, non-denominational, mixed grammar school with around 1100 students. In 2011 the Collegium Heilig Kreuz received the School Prize of the Science Olympiad .

building

The building, which is near the Boulevard de Pérolles, is surrounded by forest on three sides. The college also includes the modern gym and a large-scale sports facility that includes a football, basketball and volleyball field as well as a tennis court. Sports events take place regularly in the gym, for example the home games of the Freiburg basketball club Friborg Olympic or matches of the college's own basketball team.
