Kolochau , until November 10, 1937 Colochau , is a district of Kremitzaue in the southern Brandenburg district of Elbe-Elster .
history
In 1346 Kolochau was first mentioned in the Meißner diocese registers, but is probably much older. The place name is derived from Slavic and means "place of Koloch".
During the Thirty Years' War , the imperial colonel Hans von Götz had the place plundered and pillaged, but died shortly afterwards in Kolochau from a gunshot wound during the ultimately unsuccessful attack on the nearby town of Herzberg .
The Kolochau station was on the Falkenberg – Beeskow West railway line .
The municipality of Kremitzaue came into being on December 31, 2001 from the voluntary amalgamation of the previously independent municipalities of Kolochau, Malitschkendorf and Polzen.
