Kolofata is a municipality in the Mayo-Sava district in the Extreme-Nord province , which forms the northern tip of Cameroon . It is close to the border with Nigeria .

history

On January 12, 2015, the terrorist group Boko Haram attacked the local military base. 143 terrorists were killed in the process, and there was one fatality from the Cameroonian side.

Presumably as an act of revenge, a suicide attack occurred on October 29, 2017 in the village of Goudéri, which left 11 people dead.
