The Kombat T-98 is an armored vehicle developed by the Kombat Armouring Group of Saint Petersburg , which was built for road traffic and is intended to provide protection against attacks with ballistic weapons. It is delivered in a civilian version and an individually configurable version for special military units and police.
technology
The axles, all-wheel drive and the dashboard, as well as the engines, are supplied by General Motors . The T-98 will vary according to type from a 6.6 liter V8 - diesel engine (Duramax turbodiesel 6600) with a power of 235 kW (320 hp) at 3100 / min or a 8.1-liter V8 gasoline engine ( Vortec 8100) with an output of 294 kW (400 PS) at 4200 rpm. The maximum speed is 180 km / h. The 6-speed automatic gearbox is an Allison 1000, the reduction gear is two-stage and is electronically controlled. The capacity of the tank is 105 liters.
Furnishing
The T-98 is designed individually according to customer requirements. In the VIP version, the interior is mostly made of leather and wood. There are two airbags , some electronic driving aids such as ABS and cruise control installed. On request there is also a two-zone air conditioning system , CD changer, navigation system, DVD player, television set, a partition to the rear and a house bar in the glove compartment.
protection
The T-98 is supplied in protection classes B2 to B7 , depending on the requirements . Its armor is made of special German steel, and 50 mm thick special glass is used for the windows. The armored underbody and the sandwich body made of several layers of armor steel and ceramic (only B7) offer protection against almost all common firearms up to caliber 12.7 mm as well as land mines (only B7).
price
The prices for the Combat T-98 depend on the protection class and the individual equipment. Simple variants cost 130,000 euros, with special equipment the price can also reach 230,000 euros. Around 20 civilian and 60 T-98s for police use are manufactured each year.
