Kombolcha

Kombolcha ( Amharic ኮምቦልቻ Kombolča ) is a city in the Amhara region of Ethiopia. It is located 25 km southeast of Dese and has an airport that it shares with this neighboring city.
Administratively, the place belongs to the Woreda Kombolcha in the Debub Wollo zone within the state of Amhara.
According to the 1994 census, of 462,951 inhabitants, 91.34% were Amhars , 5.85% Tigray and 1.29% Oromo . 93.02% spoke Amharic as their first language. 57.42% were Muslims and 41.71% were Ethiopian Orthodox Christians. In 2005, 68,766 people lived in Kombolcha according to the census.
