The Lenin Military Political Academy ( Russian Военно-политическая академия имени В. И. Ленина ) was a military academy in Moscow and a college of the Soviet Army .

history

The Military Political Academy was one of the first to take up work after the October Revolution . In 1919 , the Tolmachev Training Institute of the Red Army was founded in Petrograd, today's St. Petersburg . After that, a series of renaming took place within a short period of time. It was first renamed the Petrograd Red Army Institute in 1921 . Then it was renamed the Petrograd Institute for Instructors , followed by the renaming in 1922 to Higher Military Political Courses . From 1923 the academy was called the Military Political Institute and from 1925 it was called the Military Political Academy . In 1938 the Academy was given the honorary name " VI Lenin ". In the same year the headquarters of the academy were relocated to Moscow .

In addition to working in the field of social sciences and military disciplines, she trained military educators and party politicians.

The Academy was awarded the Order of Lenin in 1934, the Order of the Red Banner in 1944 and the Order of the October Revolution in 1969 .
