The Military Academy for Rear Services and Transportation " AWKhruljow " ( Russian Военная академия тыла и транспорта имени А. В. Хрулева ) was a military educational institution of the Soviet Union , which is continued by Russia .
history
The academy is one of the oldest institutions in St. Petersburg . In 1800 the Institute for Transport Engineers was founded. On the basis of this institute and the Intendant Academy founded in 1911, the Military Science Academy of the Red Workers 'and Peasants' Army was formed in 1918 . With the creation of the academy, the headquarters of the academy were relocated to Moscow . From 1943 to 1956 the academy was located in Kalinin, today's Tver , before it was relocated back to Leningrad, today's St. Petersburg.
In 1920 the academy merged with the Naval Forces Finance College. From these two institutions the Military Economic Academy of the Red Workers 'and Peasants' Army and the Red Workers 'and Peasants' Fleet was formed. This institution was dissolved in 1924 and re-established in 1935. In the coming years the academy will go through further name changes. From 1940 it was called the Intendant Academy of the Red Army and from 1942 the Military Academy for Rear Services and Supply . After merging with the Military Academy for Transport , the academy was given its current name.
