The Malinovsky Military Academy of Armored Forces ( Russian Военная Академия Бронетанковых Войск - Малиновского ) was a military college in Moscow , Russian Federation founded in 1932 .
history
The Academy was founded in May 1932 by a resolution of the Labor and Defense Council by merging the two-year-old Faculty of Mechanization and Motorization of the Military Technical Academy “FE Dzerzhinsky” and the Moscow Motor Vehicle Institute “ MW Lomonosov ”. At first it was called the "Military Academy for Mechanization and Motorization of the Red Workers 'and Peasants' Army". The seat of the academy was in Moscow . In 1933 she was given the name " IW Stalin ", which she carried until 1961. In addition to the purely military training for commanders and staff officers, there was a focus on engineering training. The academy was also the scientific center for working out the problems of tank technology and the combat use of tank troops.
At the end of 1941 the Academy was relocated from Moscow to Tashkent , Uzbekistan . In April 1943 it was renamed the “Military Academy of the Armored and Mechanized Troops of the Red Army” and at the same time it was decided to move it back to Moscow.
The name was changed to “Military Academy of Armored Forces” in 1954. The honorary name “Marshal of the Soviet Union RJ Malinowski ” was given to the academy after his death in 1967. The Academy was awarded the Order of Lenin in 1941, the Order of the Red Banner in 1965 and the Order of the October Revolution in 1980.
According to the resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 10.009 of October 29, 1998, the Malinovsky Military Academy of Armored Forces and the General Military Academy of the Russian Armed Forces were merged.
