The Zhukov Military Academy for Air Defense Commanders ( Russian: Военная академия воздушно-космической обороны имени Маршала укова ) is one of the four Soviet Air Defense Forces academies .
The academy was founded in 1956. The seat of the academy is in Tver , the former Kalinin. After Zhukov's death in 1974, the academy was given his name.
Commanders are trained in the field of air defense at the academy. As the scientific center for questions of air defense, it deals with problems of the operational art and tactics of air defense. Attention is also paid to perfecting the leadership of air defense troops.
The Academy was awarded the Order of the Red Banner in 1981 .
