The military academy for engineers of the air force "Prof. N. each. Zhukovsky ” ( Russian Военно-воздушная инженерная академия имени профессора Н. Е. Жуковского ) in Moscow is one of the oldest military universities in Russia .
In 1919, at the suggestion of Nikolai Jegorowitsch Schukowski, the Moscow Aviation Technology Center was founded. From 1920 the institution was named Institute for Engineers of the Red Air Fleet . In the next five years the name changed to the Air Force Academy (1922) and the Air Force Military Academy (1925). The institution has had its current name since 1946.
