The military academy for radio engineers in air defense, Leonid Alexandrowitsch Goworow was one of the four academies in the field of air forces / air defense of the former Soviet army .

history

The history of this academy goes back to 1941. At that time, the Air Defense Faculty was spun off from the Frunze Military Academy . On the basis of this faculty, the Military College of Air Defense of the Red Army was established . The school was renamed the Academy of Artillery Radio Metrology in 1946 and the Military Academy of Radio Technology for the Air Force in 1948 . The last change to the current name took place in 1968. The name Marshal of the Soviet Union LA Goworow was given in 1955. The academy was located in Kharkiv .

The aim of the academy was to train military engineers for radio technology and radio electronics. In addition, the elaboration of problems relating to the military use of radio electronic means played a decisive role.
