Local elections in Hesse 1964

The local elections in Hesse in 1964 took place on October 25, 1964, together with the local elections in Saarland in 1964 and the local elections in Rhineland-Palatinate in 1964 . The SPD was able to increase its result, the CDU and FDP also gained votes. The losers were GDP / BHE and the Free Voting Communities.

Legal bases

The legal basis was the Hessian municipality and district election law of February 25, 1952.

Municipal elections

In the elections to the municipal councils, the independent groups of voters in the districts and the SPD in the urban districts were the strongest party, the CDU was beaten in second place. The following result was obtained in absolute votes:
