“The Compendium that I am now presenting to the whole Church is a faithful and reliable summary of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. It briefly contains all the essential and fundamental elements of the Church's faith and, as my predecessor wanted, it forms a kind of vademecum that enables people - whether they are believers or not - to see the whole panorama in one place of the Catholic Faith.

The compendium reflects the structure, content and language of the Catechism of the Catholic Church and, as a summary, offers help and inspiration to make it even more known and deepened. "
