As Zunyi Conference the full meeting of the Politburo is the Communist Party of China announced that from 15. January bis 17th January 1935 in the city of Zunyi (province of Guizhou ) took place.

The meeting, which took place shortly after the start of the Long March , was dominated by the power struggle between the faction around Mao Zedong on the one hand and the Comintern- loyal faction around Bo Gu , Otto Braun and Wang Ming . The latter were accused of opportunism at this conference and held responsible for numerous military errors and high losses.

Mao Zedong managed to get other influential Chinese communists such as Zhou Enlai , Zhu De or Liu Bocheng to his side; Mao was elected to the party secretariat and the permanent political bureau of the CP. Otto Braun and Bo Gu were removed from their positions; the military command was taken over by Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai and Wang Jiaxiang .

The Zunyi Conference is widely described, especially in China , as the turning point in history, when the ideologically blinded leaders of the Soviet Union were disempowered for harming the communist cause. The turning point in the struggle of the communists only occurred after the Chinese revolution had been freed from the unrealism of the Soviet guidelines.

The two-story brick and wood building has been a revolutionary memorial since 1955 .
