Kongero is a Swedish folk music - quartet .

The four women - Anna Larsson, Anna Wikenius, Emma Björling and Lotta Andersson - sing a cappella Swedish traditional and folk songs in their own arrangements as well as their own compositions, including poems and old poetry.

The name of the group is borrowed from a regional dialect of the Jämtland province and means spider .

history

The group of four trained singers was founded in 2005 at the Ingelund University of Music . In the first few years she only performed in Sweden. The first recording Om Mikaelidagen ("On Michaelmas Day") was released in 2008. Since 2011, there have been appearances in Finland, Norway, Denmark, Germany (including at folkBALTICA 2012) and Austria. In addition, the second album Bakvändä världen was released in October 2011 . The following work with the descriptive title no.3 came out in June 2014.
For private reasons, Lovisa Liljeberg left the group in 2016. Anna Larsson took her place on October 13, 2016 as the new singer. With this line-up, the new album Kom ("Komm") was recorded in February 2017 and released in early summer.
